The Louis Vuitton Manhattan PM is one of the most characteristic bags from Marc Jacobs' golden era at LV — its two front pockets with gold push-lock clasps, its structured dome silhouette, and its practical city format made it one of the most sought-after it-bags of the 2000s. Today, with the Y2K revival in full swing, the Manhattan is exactly the bag we're looking for.

The Manhattan was launched in 2005 by Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton's artistic director since 1997, as part of his Spring-Summer 2006 collection. Its name pays tribute to Manhattan, the New York borough symbolizing American urban elegance, which Jacobs — a New Yorker himself — loved to evoke in his creations for the house. The bag immediately distinguished itself with its two front flap pockets with gold push-lock clasps — a structural detail reminiscent of the house's historic travel trunks, transposed into a modern city bag format. Its structured half-moon silhouette, vachetta trim, and Toron handles make it a piece deeply rooted in LV's identity while being resolutely of the 2000s.

The even caramel vachetta patina on this item is beautiful and well-established — the trim, base, and handles have naturally taken on their golden honey hue. The canvas is clean.
